Sir Tom Jones has been forced to cancel his show due to health reasons just hours before taking to the stage in Bremen, Germany on Tuesday.
The iconic Welsh crooner, 85, took to Instagram with a statement and told fans that he’d contracted a contracted an upper respiratory infection and would require ‘treatment and rest’.
Sir Tom said he was ‘very sorry’ to backing out at the last minute before confirming a rescheduled date for next week, Monday July 28.
Taking to social media his statement read: ‘Hello to all the fans in Bremen. Unfortunately, I must postpone my show this evening, as I’ve contracted an upper respiratory infection that needs treatment and rest’.
‘I know this is really disappointing and will cause inconvenience to you all, and I’m very sorry about that. But the show will now go ahead on Monday 28th July, so I look forward to seeing you then. All tickets will remain valid for the re-scheduled date’.
Racing to the comments fans were quick to send the Sex Bomb singer their best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery, including former Voice co-stars Anne-Marie and Olly Murs.

One wrote: ‘Please take care of yourself. Rest and get through this moment well. I will pray for you. I wish you the best of health and many years of joy. The love of the many who love you works wonders. I love you infinitely’.
While others commented: ‘Sending you loads of feeling well wishes Sir Tom. Stay safe’: ‘Get well soon Sir Tom’: ‘Sending you loads of feeling well wishes Sir Tom. Stay safe’: ‘Sending love and strength! Hope you’re well soon!’: ‘Praying for your swift recuperation- you are so loved!!!’.
Last year The Voice judge spoke about his health and claimed to be ‘more vigorous than ever’.
He told The Mirror: ‘Well, thank God my voice is still working. I am 83 years old. I mean I can’t believe it, but it is true’.
‘When I am singing I am like: “How the hell is this coming out of me?” Honestly. If the voice was not there I am sure I would be going ‘Urgh, I don’t want to do so many shows’ but I love it as the voice is still working!’.
Back in 2022 the hitmaker revealed he has to sit down for three quarters of his performances as he got candid about his health.
Sir Tom spoke to MailOnline about his hip, which he got replaced back in 2017, and said: ‘Yeah, I can do about four songs without sitting… and I can walk on, I’ve got an inversion table in my dressing room.
