Radio host forced to leave studio live on air after receiving tragic news

A popular radio host has been forced to leave her morning radio show on Wednesday after receiving ‘tragic news’.

Jade Robran, who hosts FIVEAA’s Winter Breakfast show in Adelaide with Tom Rehn, was presenting her program before abruptly leaving the studio just before 7am.

Tom then addressed her shock departure, informing listeners there had been a death in her family,’ he said.

‘Jade unfortunately has had to go home, there has been some unexpected and very tragic news.

‘There’s been a death in her family so we wish Jade all the very best.’

‘Hope you’re okay, Jade, if you’re driving home listening right now,’ Tom continued.

‘Jade, we love you. We hope you’re okay with the rest of the family. 

‘Hopefully she’ll be back tomorrow. That’s very, very sad news.’

Tom continued presenting the show on his own until 9am.

Jade previously hosted FIVEAA’s afternoon show but departed from the program in 2017.

She has worked in the media industry for over 20 years and is best known her her time in Melbourne working for Channel Seven.

Jade has hosted Seven’s AFL Grand Final and Melbourne Cup coverage.

The journalist has also worked as a correspondent for Channel Nine’s breakfast Today Show.

Jade returned to FIVEAA in 2022 and hosted the station’s afternoon show for one year before stepping back to spend time with her family.

She is currently filling in for Will Goodings and David Penberthy who are on holidays.

Jade is married to Big Brother Australia star Ben Williams, who won the first season back in 2001.

The couple married in Bali in 2008 and share two young sons together.
